What is odd (to me) is that not a single one of them has ever been called Dolly. This list below is only from machines that very closely follow the lines, curves, and controls of the Singer 15. There are very exact copies and some not as exact and some with slight improvements. In sewing machine circles and websites and etc this word is often applied to machines that very closely resemble the Singer model 15 (belted motor version). Since then there have been many of clones (of the same sheep) and the word became synonymous for a dead-ringer, or darn good copy. In February of 1997 the word "clone" suddenly became a household word as the reports came in about Dolly the Sheep.
